Frequently Asked Questions

Will this course increase the amount of sex I have?
The truth is, everyone is at a different place in their journey, and I cannot really say precisely what will happen on yours. My hope is not specifically that you have MORE sex (although this definitely can happen!), but that the quality of the sex (solo or partnered) that you have begins to be from a place of more authenticity, presence and pleasure. My hope is that you will enjoy the intimacy and sex much more that you are having.
It probably look like you taking those big next steps on your exploration of knowing yourself more, feeling more connected to your body and pleasure, and if you are partnered that you are able to share a bit more about your true inner experience and pleasure with them. This will probably lead to more intimacy. The hope is more intimacy (into-me-see) with yourself, your partner/s, and experiencing your pleasure in a deeper more present way. So we are talking quality over quantity.
Can I join this class if I am single?
Absolutely! You are welcome partnered, dating, single, poly, and all forms of relationship or non-relationship.

Can I join this class if I am queer/gay/questioning?
Absolutely!

Can I join this class if I am poly/practice ENM/relationship anarchy or am a swinger?
Absolutely!

Can I join this class if I am Ace/Asexual?
If you identify as Asexual then please get in touch with me and we can have a conversation to see if it may be the right fit for you. I don't have a straight forward answer for this.

Can I join this class if I am religious?
Absolutely! All folks are welcome. This is a non-denominational, non-religious course based on science and psycho-education. There are parts of the course that involve mindful self touch on your own in the privacy of your own home. If this is not appealing to you, I would suggest another course. It is an important part of the class and in building comfort with one's body, sexuality and understanding what kinds of touch your body responds to and bring pleasure to you.

Can I join this class if I haven't had sex in the past many years?
Absolutely.

Can I join this class if I have never meditated, or don't like meditation?
Yes, definitely. As long as you are willing to try the practices weekly in class and daily at home, and are aware that the most current, most highly researched and most successful treatments of low-desire are Mindfulness-based practices and programs. If you are open to seeing what it can do for you, this could be a good course for you.

Why is this course for women and those socialized as female from a young age?
This course takes into consideration the experience of being a woman and being socialized as a girl in our world, and how that can impact the relationship with sexuality. Although there is a varied experience within these identities, giving a cohesion to the group can be helpful for the students to support each other. I am so open and happy to tweak this course for other identities. If you have interest in this course, but do not identify as a woman or someone who was socialized female from a young age, I would love to hear from you. Please get in touch.

Can I join this class if I don't want to do the Mindfulness exercises, or don't think I can fit them into my busy schedule?
I would say if you don't want to do them, this isn't the right course for you. If it is really that you fear you cannot find time for the exercises, I would like to let you know that this course is not about being perfect. You are welcome to modify how much you can do to your reality. We will do exercises together each week during the class, and then I encourage you to do practices throughout the week. I also know that life is complex. If you see this course as one more step on your journey, and you are going to do what you can in the 6 weeks, I know you can still get a lot out of the course.
