Jan has seen hypnotherapy be effective in dealing with weight loss, as mind-body techniques can often help reinforce motivation, self-discipline and will-power. This helps people change their behavior and attitudes about eating, physical activity, shopping for food and restaurant dining.
Jan listens to what you are struggling with and from this she devises the words and images offered to your subconscious mind during a hypnotic session. What should one expect on a visit with Jan? Typically, your first session will begin with a great deal of talking. Jan will ask you questions to get some insight into what motivates you and what your beliefs and expectations might be. When that's done, Jan uses the simplest yet effective technique by having you close your eyes while becoming comfortable in a chair, letting your mind drift, developing pictures and images to accompany the words you hear her speaking.
Once you're in a state of deep relaxation (but still fully aware of where you are and what you're doing), Jan offers suggestions specifically geared to the goal of each client. For example, she may suggest that a person with irritable bowel syndrome picture the wave-like motions of her digestive system slowing down and becoming smoother.
You may even want to visit your soul contract and allow you to change the direction or course a series of events are currently taking place in your life. Your unconscious mind can then transmit these thoughts and images throughout your mind and body, setting the healing process in motion.
Jan has found that a series of hypnotherapy sessions offer the most relief, so she offers a package of 3 sessions for each client. Rarely is a client troubled by one issue and the best healing occurs when a client takes the opportunity to release additional issues that surface as a result of a session. The only exception is smoking cessation which requires one session and is offered at a reduced rate of $88.00. If a client resumes smoking within 90 days a second session is offered free of charge.
